I cannot express enough how grateful I am for Strathcona child development centre! From the moment we first walked through the doors, we felt a sense of warmth and love that surrounds this wonderful place. The staff is incredibly nurturing, attentive, and genuinely cares for each child as if they were their own.

Every day my baby lights up when bring him here, this is his home away from home. He started quite young at 7 months, I thought it was gonna be the worst transition, but he can't get enough of his teachers and the home cooked meals they provide for him here. He's has never cried dropping him off, and he's never in a hurry to leave. I know my little guy is being well taken care of.

The facility is clean, bright, and filled with age-appropriate toys and learning materials that spark curiosity and imagination. I love the consistent communication from the teachers; receiving updates and photos throughout the day truly puts my mind at ease and strengthens the connection between home and daycare.

I wholeheartedly recommend strathcona child development centre to any parent looking for a nurturing environment where children can thrive, explore, and make lasting friendships. This is the best daycare in Sherwood Park. We love the home made food and the teachers are super nice and kind. They take really good care of kids. I was very nervous in the beginning but my daughter was made comfortable and she adjusted to full time care very quick. Very thankful to the team especially Danielle.

I genuinely could not ask for more trustworthy, kind, and helpful people to care for my son when I cannot be with him. We've only been with the center for 3 months, but I don't have a single complaint (other than maybe the building elevator IYKYK). Staff in our room, phenomenal. So encouraging and helpful with both my son and I learning and growing. Meal plans, cleanliness, educational play are all top notch. I toured a few daycares in SP and SCDC is incomparable. They stood out SO positively. Long wait list to enroll completely makes sense! Do it! It's worth the wait!

My daughter started at SCDC shortly after turning one. I was so nervous to send her to daycare, but after touring three other places, we chose SCDC for its open and inviting environments. The teachers and staff were so helpful getting my daughter adjusted and me too!
I love the plants in the rooms and the balconies to play on. They go for walks in the park and explore nature. They paint and play in dirt and with water. They dance and sing and do yoga. I know that when I pick up a messy kid, she's had a fun day!
The management team are easily available to speak with if any concerns, and I find that they are knowledgeable and understanding. They will work with you if you are having concerns or problems.

Our son started attending SCDC after we removed him from a previous daycare. We had fears about his allergies but Danielle and her staff made us feel confident in their efforts to avoid an exposure (at the best of their ability) and respond to a reaction should they need to. The centre is clean & welcoming; We love how they personalize the lockers with each child’s picture as well as putting pictures up of the children doing different activities. My husband and I enjoy the daily updates that they send. We are also happy to see that the children go outside almost every day… a lot of the time twice a day (once for a walk in the community & once outside on the balcony). The staff are also very kind, caring & receptive to questions/concerns. Our son has had days where he has been upset after dropping him off and the staff would always offer suggestions on how to make it easier, comfort our son when we left the room & reassure us that he settles in quickly. He always says he’s “happy” while at daycare and tells us about his friends/teachers when he gets home. We are extremely happy with our decision to send our son to SCDC!

Big step to send my son to daycare at only 12 months. I was so nervous as no one knows him like me. But after 2 weeks, he was loving daycare. He loves the staff, he loves the activities they make for him every day. I am a control freak and I trust these wonderful women fully. My son has a cows milk protein intolerance and it did not even phase them when I told them of his strict dietary restrictions. Cannot imagine a better place for my son to learn and grow. Also, heated underground drop off means no going outside in the winter! The only negative I have is they don’t open until 7am which makes it difficult if you start work early.

I was so nervous to be away from my son while he was at daycare but SCDC has made all my nerves and fears go away. They are the BEST daycare around. Daily updates, AMAZING activity for the babies. I am so beyond please with the staff and trust them 1000% with my son. Danielle is outstanding to work with and I could not be more happy.

Amazing daycare. They really care about the kids and want to make sure they are happy, healthy and well taken care of. They do great things with the kids over the summer and I was completely blown away by all the amazing things that my daughter got to experience.

The only reason why I don't give 5 stars is :
1. I like to have consistent staff so I can build a relationship with them and feel comfortable in expressing concerns or asking questions. This daycare likes to move their staff to accommodate needs in other rooms, and sometimes they don't comeback to the room. Which I understand, but is stressful for me.
2.Though I take ownership that this was partially my fault. I had to take out my daughter twice from daycare due to being unable to either pay for daycare or having my significant other let go from their job. This daycare requires 1 month notice to have your child taken out. I did not know this was their policy and both times I have given only a few days notice. I now cannot return to this daycare. However if I was informed that I needed 1 month before taking out my child I would have tried to make it work.
