My son and I have been going to SHAC for almost 3 years. We got in for OT & speech first, then added feeding and ABA as our schedules alligned, definitely was easier to get in to the ABA program once we had our foot in the door with our other therapies. We already had our diagnosis from a previous state when we came here so that was helpful too. In our nearly 3 years we have switched therapists several times due to openings and schedules lining up,and sadly a few therapists moving on elsewhere. But even with our changes I cannot say enough how much it has been a blessing for my son and I to go here! Here's some of my personal shoutouts to the therapists and friends we adore here at SHAC- Sam(we miss you!) At the front desk, to our wonderful OT providers IRA(we miss him too!) And now Lacey - they are amazing! My son has developed so many self care skills and fine motor development, we have mastered every goal we create, they are engaging and playful and creative to help my son focus and grow the way that works best for him! Our amazing speech and feeding team- Krissy, Lenita, Brandi,& now Tara- each has brought something different to the table and only strengthened our repertoire of thechniques to draw from and keep progressing! My son was NONverbal at the beginning of our journey here with SHAC, & he now is verbal! & Becoming more and more fluent and spontaneous with his speech! This team loves the children and supports the whole family to help your child succeed and be happy. And our ABA JOURNEY was different here then at other places we have received help, they teach the parent/caregivers ways to continue providing support at home to help with behaviors -decreasing unwanted and increasing desired behaviors and they really work! They also provide limited (only in hours-we got one hour a week) direct aba for the child implementing the process and working on goals agreed upon by family and therapists and it is amazing. It drew my son out of his shell and taught him wonderful skills for communicating, reducing dangerous behaviors, functional play, social skills, eye contact and on and on.only thing I wish was that it was a longer program and offering more hours ! We worked directly with the Amazing team of Robin and Shasta and honestly can't say enough about their energy, talent, creativity and passion they give every day. Anyhow if you are still reading lol ?,then I highly rated and recommend this center. So nice to have people who get it,work with you, care, and love your child. They also provide great events and trainings for others and in addition to daily therapies, likes groups, trick or treat practice, Christmas parties, parent trainings, etcetc that provide real life practice for our kids and us!

We have been working with Krissy A. at the Autism Center for several years now for individual speech and social groups. She is outstanding. She is creative in her approach and exhibits great patience when necessary. My son with autism has made great strides working with her. I also appreciates SHAC has made in creating special events like trick or treat practice and the Christmas party.

The front desk staff is very dry, boring, and careless to your needs, comfort level, and understanding. Very unloving environment. Not welcoming or warm. The doctor from Niceville that evaluated my son didn't care. Never met him before yet he recommended my husband and I to be better parents and our child will get better when he knows nothing about our parenting. And also said people only do this to get the "benefits" or "services". I can only assume he means SSI checks. We never said thats what we were looking for. We just wanted to see what services our child needs, next steps, etc. My husband and I were sh*tted on at this place. If you value your dignity and respect, do not bring your child here for evaluation.

I DO NOT recommend even wasting your time trying to get your child therapy at this place! They obviously do not care! I have been on the wait list for my child for over a year only to get a phone call today from a lady named Natalie said she was doing a pre-screening process to see what my son would qualify for. She asked me some questions and then said based off my answers he qualifies for in home therapy which they do not currently offer?!?! Then proceeded to try and give me other companies phone numbers to call about therapy! I said I thought y’all had openings and she said we do, just not for what your child needs! I want him in ABA therapy that is what both his doctors recommended. Then she said another lady would call me tomorrow. I let her know how upset I was to have waited all this time, just for them to tell me there is nothing they can do?! Wow!!! There are not enough doctors or therapists in the Pensacola area with enough education to handle special needs kids in my opinion...it’s sad very sad!

I am reviewing on behalf of Allison Parks. The Parks family has been working with Shasta and Carleigh for several months and have nothing but good things to say about these therapists and this facility. The therapists are kind and understanding and every single one of them have an obvious love for children! Thank you for helping the children who cannot help themselves!

Dr. Oas whom is filling in for Dr. Gargus is very unprofessional and seems uneducated. We have waited a very long time for my sons official Autism Spectrum Disorder diagnosis and our appointment was today. Dr. Oas had me fill out 2 questionnaires and asked my son one question- "How old is your baby sister?" to which my son did not respond to. He said "Yeah we'll call it an autism spectrum disorder." And sent us on our way. We have been through numerous evaluations- none of which were anything like this. He seemed uninterested in our IEP paperwork, and did not interact with my son at all. He seemed to be rushing us on our way.
I will say when I called back, to ask for a re-evaluation through Dr. Gargus when she is off medical leave, the front office seemed concerned with his message of diagnosis and told me to be expecting a call back from them before noon on Monday because they were speaking to their office director.
I do not recommend taking your child here for an evaluation while Dr. Oas is filling in.
