I arrived the Friday before Milton hurricane hit, they provided everything I needed to survive that, treatment was excellent, love care and know how was incredible, the staff really cares, they go above and beyond! If you have a substance abuse, mental health problem that is causing your life to be unmanageable or go down the toilet, this place is for you! Housing was clean, perfect location for meetings, they attack all issues together and set you up for success as long as you're willing to participate and change your life for the better! I just moved to a sober house, have been employed for over a month, and am doing amazing!

To the staff of TBRC. I would like to extend my sincerest thanks for all your help, support, compassion and kindness. There’s soo many things I could list:
-Nyah…Going above and beyond to get my FMLA and short term disability approved. Making sure our every need was met throughout two hurricanes. Your heart and love for the clients shines through your actions.
-Bella…Thank you for allowing me the space and time to process my grief at my pace. For loaning me your personal book which gave me soo much insight into how I’m feeling and that it’s okay and there’s no timeframe for grief. You are a great listener and an amazing therapist. I’ll miss your groups, they were really fun or really deep.
-Lauren…PHONES & VAPES (My favorite song lol). You run a tight group and keep people on track but also allow them the freedom to process. I appreciated your all your feedback.
-Kristin…Your groups, for me, were very informative. You taught great content and although I only got you once or twice a week for an hour, I enjoyed the content.
-Jenn…whatever you pay this woman, it’s not enough. She handles all of housing, the techs, scheduling, grocery store runs, maintenance issues, housing meetings, and still has time to do case manager work like making sure every client gets food stamps, a phone for the ones who can’t afford one, bus passes and I think I’m just scratching the surface. She will do anything for anyone outside the scope of her job description. I admire the hell out of your work ethic, attitude, recovery program and you as an individual.
-Rich Sarah and all his different helpers in the morning…. Thank you all for being efficient, having a smile and a “good morning” ready for us when we walk in.

Before my last period of sobriety I had the unfortunate experience of going to rehab 31 times. No rehab is perfect and some are just downright terrible. Taking any partiality out of it and grading you on the merits of level of care; compassion; clinically; how you all communicated to resolve client complaints/issues; and how you adapted to adversity and kept the clients first regardless of cost or being overworked, you gals and guy are 2nd to NONE. I truly appreciated the collaborative efforts from the bottom to the top.

Thank you all again!
Jay Vanderbilt

I went to TBR last year, and Jeff the director is absolutely wonderful, as is Kristen the therapist there. Josh on the other hand was very rude and said some distasteful comments to me, as well as someone I am now with. Otherwise good facility.

TBRC is amazing! The entire staff is genuinely kind and caring. Very helpful and knowledgeable. I did not live in the housing, I commuted from home, so I can’t rate them but from what I heard they are very nice and allow for quite a bit of freedom, unlike other residential programs. Their program was exactly what I was hoping it would be and I graduated with all the tools necessary to succeed in my recovery and I know I will never be alone, they will be there to help me. I will miss seeing them on the daily, especially Richie’s smiling face every morning for vitals! Remember, you get what you put into it and it takes time, for time!

Tampa Bay Recovery Center changed my life! Before coming here, I was lost and had no positive outlook on life. Not only did the wonderful staff help with my sobriety, they also helped me gain the mindset and knowledge to live my life to my fullest potential! Isabella was the best therapist I’ve ever had and her challenges helped me gain the confidence, reassurance, and validity that was absent before I had arrived at TBRC. I was presented with so many struggles that I had avoided during active addiction and I cannot thank the staff and community enough for their support and insight to overcome these situations. I would definitely recommend coming here for anyone seeking treatment as they are very accommodating and accepting to specific needs.

I went to treatment at tbrc and was in the php program, and I stayed at one of their sober living houses. Upon arrival I was made to feel so welcome by staff members and I was pleasantly suprised at how clean and modern the sober house was. My counselor was amazing and super hands on, everyone went out of their way to make sure my stay was comfortable. I’ve been to many treatment centers and this one was different. I really enjoyed the groups as well as the format. I was able to have my phone and my car as well as have weekend visits with my wife. I would highly recommend this treatment center to anyone so much so that I have since been facilitating the Sunday group meeting and doing service work at tbrc. I would like to mention some people that really made my stay amazing rich the tech and alumni coordinator as well as Josh the house manager, and Nyah who came on around the time I was leaving, and of course my amazing counselor Deborah!

We were given the name of this facility because of their high ratings, but I have very little good to say. Our 25 year old granddaughter was referred here. The people seemed friendly and attentive, and she seemed to like it. Then, she was given a medication which interfered with another one, and it gave her terrible cravings. She called and complained to me one morning, but later that morning I received a call that that she had left with another patient and had relapsed. They didn't know where she was. We are not from the area, so we were terrified. She finally contacted us, and was put back into detox for about a week. It turned out the medical staff did not wait to see what was in her system before administering the the new drug. That was strike one.
She was "accepted" back (because they screwed up) and was great for a few days until she missed her 8 pm curfew by 15 minutes because she had been to a AA meeting that ended at 8. She was given a warning. A day or two later she was accused of kissing a fellow male patient. Within the hour, she was told she was leaving, they got her an Uber, and she was shipped off to another facility. Her friends and fellow patients were not allowed to go near her. I was told that male and female patients were not allowed to fraternize, but while delivering some groceries one day, I personally observed male and female patients going in and out of each others residences. My granddaughter told me that one of the techs had it in for her from the beginning, and it was even brought up in group by some of the other female patients. That was strike two.
Strike three came when I heard they let another young woman go, also from out of state, at 10pm on a Sunday night! No one has heard from her since.
My granddaughter was doing well, and since she was evicted, it has been a struggle to find another facility that could take her and that met her needs. She has spoken to some of the current patients, and was told the staff has been talking about her and how she has relapsed (which she hasn't).
It's sad that these young people, who are in a fragile state as it is, are thrown to the curb like yesterday's garbage. I would NOT recommend this facility to anyone.
