This hospital is a joke! Every person we dealt with told us different things and when we question why things are being handled the way they are they talk in circles. My husband was assigned Dr Amarchand at the hospital and he refuses to show up until the evening and instead of my husband being home this morning, he’s still there because this Dr shows up “whenever he feels like it” and no one can contact him because “he refuses to learn how to use the hospital system”. It’s completely disrespectful of patient’s time and complete ignorance. We were told “we think he’s just here to collect a paycheck”. I am so disgusted! Every single nurse has a complaint about this guy and yet nothing has changed?! No one will call me back from the patient care line. No one will help my husband switch to a different Dr so he can be discharged. It’s a damn joke. They’re basically holding him against his will because without a discharge he can’t leave or insurance won’t pay the bill. Horrible!!! I’d give 0 stars if I could.

Brought my son to the emergency room last night and sat in the waiting room for 3 hrs to receive treatment. When asked why we weren't allowed a room in the ER but 2 other patients that walked in were brought back and placed in a room I was advised they had an ACTUAL emergency and that they can't tell me their emergency. I didn't ask their emergency, I asked why my sick child and I weren't privileged enough to be put in a room. I'm also pretty educated in HIPAA, so I found the nurses words to be insulting. I am also immune compromised and don't need to be exposed to other people. Every time I have been to this hospital there has been some type of issue and lack of concern or empathy. I dreaded going here but after a long day and late night decided to stay close to home. Never again!! I will travel to citrus or pinellas next time.

I am currently at Tampa General Brooksville. I have been here since Friday. I have experienced doctors reading me the results of a different patient. They were at the wrong bed the med cart trying to give him medication wrong bed again the lady next to me they’re doing the same to her that we’re trying to give her my meds or read my test results wrong bed. Yesterday the doctor forgot me in my room when he was making his rounds and they had to call him from another floor. Today the doctor came in while I was getting a EKG and he said he would be back Around and never came back to see.me. A man died the other night on a cold blue they were running from everywhere. Their family was devastated out in the hall and I heard a nurse running down the hall saying I read the wrong chart. I read the wrong chart over and over. This is very disturbing to me. This hospital needs to get their stuff together. I have also had some wonderful nurses . And some not so good,

It has taken me a long time to find the words of gratitude to describe my visit on August 30, 2024. I was visiting Florida, a long way from home, when I fell ill with pain and found my way to Tampa General Hospital. I was experiencing pain I’d never experienced before. I was in fear and unable to focus except for the thought of hoping someone could help me. The moment I entered the parking lot, I was curled up in pain, and without hesitation a young woman ran out of the hospital with a wheelchair to escort me into the building. I was attended to and surrounded by wonderful professionals from the very beginning of my visit. I received extensive education in regards to the medications I was due to receive. Every question was answered and every fear was put to ease. My physical needs due to my inability to perform on my own were met gracefully by my nurse, Fritzner. He went above and beyond. During my time of feeling fear I also felt love and support. He prepared me for my x-ray and CT scan. That’s where I encountered care from Lynda Kotlarek. I was so afraid and she covered me with warmth through blankets and care which in return helped me calm down. She spoke to me with calmness and grace. I was concerned about my imaging results, causing my anxiety to overrule my body’s reaction which caused me to shake. She was so patient with me and was able to explain findings to me in detail to help me be put at ease. The kindness in her eyes is something I will never forget. I want to thank the hospital staff I crossed paths with that day but most of all I want to thank Fritzner and Lynda for not only doing their jobs but being so compassionate with their livelihood. I am so grateful and hold so much love in my heart for them.

With gratitude,
Ina D

I've had good experiences in the past.. but this time was absolutely horrible. Staff wasn't nice, or attentive.. you try to ask them something and they sit there talking at the nurses station about non work related stuff. All the while ignoring you. When you finally get a response they act like your a problem. The bathroom had poop on the wall.. it was dirty, a very very small amount of the staff was nice the rest of staffs attitudes was just as nasty as the bathroom.. not happy.

I was recently admitted due to breathing difficulties. While I have had some doctors in the past ignore my autoimmune issues and claiming that my symptoms were just anxiety, I had a wonderful team from the ED to the floor where I was admitted who really took time to build a plan of action and to see it through. I want to thank the following people: Jackie in the ER front desk for helping to triage me carefully in between my breathing spasms; Keri in the ER for double checking an antibiotic and getting me a different one when I brought up concerns about my medicine allergies; Wes and Toussiant in the ER for giving me a full understanding on why I was being admitted and how admittance would help to prevent worst occurrences; Stacy during the night shift who took so much time to review all of my medications and conditions; Teresa and Hannah on the floor for sorting out the food allergy confusion as well as helping me with my three blown veins and the sudden fluid swelling when the IV became displaced; and thank you to Deb for helping me to make it to our car when I finally got to go home.

This place is get them in and get them out. They could care less about families knowledge of the patient and the high and mighty doctors do as they please without consulting the patient primary physician. Nurses when answering questions are like oh hum, another person trying to get answers. I specifically told them to not use a private transport when they release her and they did without calling me. I got a call the next morning from her facility that she returned the night before.

Took my daughter there to the emergency room on December 26th 2024, for bad stomach pain and spent a couple of hours there with a guess for a diagnosis. Very disappointed, went through two nurses trying to get blood, my daughter was stuck with needle 8 times, including the use of ultrasound to help find a vein and still could not get a blood test done because blood could not be drawn. Finally, my daughter said she had enough and could not take anymore and we were sent out with a guess for diagnoses. Took her to a doctor later that day and they said that was not what it was. That doctor also could not get records from the ER to help them. Very poor experience and poorly ran ER. Then got a bill for 200 from ER visit and 100 from a doctor that seen her for 5 minutes if that. Dr did absolutely nothing and neither did the nurses. $300 visit for absolutely nothing. Quality of care was poor. Very disappointed with TGH in Brooksville.
