After being a victim of attempted manslaughter, I was left with debilitating nerve pain through the right side of my body, my neck, shoulders, arms, hip and legs were all affected.

All the doctors I seen told me to do physiotherapy and take strong opiate medications. For over 2 years I tried every single form of conservative therapy, between physiotherapy, chiropractic care, massage therapy, red light therapy, cupping therapy, shockwave therapy, acupuncture and spinal decompression therapy to cure my pain however over time my pain only got worse.

I spoke to multiple surgeons and they told me I would have to do spinal fusions and I had less than a 25% success rate of being pain free after doing surgery and I would have to continue to do physiotherapy to regain some mobility. Considering the low success rate of spinal fusions I opted to fight my pain for as long as possible and took pain meds every single day, it was terrible.

Then one day by the grace of god, I came across The Bonati Spine Institute. After contacting them and coming in for a consultation my condition was evaluated and I had 3 bulging discs in my neck as well as 4 bulging discs in my lower back, and 1 compressed disc in my lower back.

Dr. Bonati told me, “I could fix your pain and there’s a very high success rate if you choose to do surgery with me.” I was desperate for change in my life regarding my pain but even with that desperation I refused to do any surgeries unless I believed they would work.

Dr. Bonati spent his time explaining the surgical procedures, explained which disc was responsible for which set of nerve pain. It was a very simple procedure however it sounded way too good to be true. The truth is, Dr. Bonati is way too good at what he does. I did multiple surgeries with Dr. Bonati going level by level on my spine and every single surgery lead to an immediate removal of pain, all while keeping my original discs in place.

I was truly blessed to have ever met Dr. Bonati and Dr. Bonati is truly heaven sent. Even though my condition was very complex, Dr. Bonati got rid of my pain very simply. The operations lasted about 40 minutes per level and I always walked out of surgery feeling better than I did when I walked in.

If you suffer from any form of back pain or spinal issues, I more than highly recommend booking a consultation with Dr. Bonati and if he says he can fix it, trust me he can. Not only is he an amazing surgeon but he’s an amazing person and all of the staff at The Bonati Spine Institute made my experience there not only comfortable but memorable.

When I walked in to his offices I walked in as a stranger but when I walked out, I walked out feeling the love and warmth from everyone here and I can easily say that these people have become like family to me.

The Bonati Spine Institute is the place to go for all your spine problems. My back problems started in 2014 with lumbasacral herniated disc with complete compression on my spine. Over the years, I've had continuous nerve pains along my left leg and have been taking gabapentin at large doses along with various muscle relaxers and anti inflammatories. Finding out about the Bonati Institute from a friend was the best thing I ever did. I found the staff to be very professional from the front desk to the Operating room at the back. Dr. Wolff took the time to go over all my diagnostic workups, explaining in detail what areas of concern that will be addressed in surgery and how each procedure will be done. I had 3 areas surgically done over alternate days within a week, with post-op reviews between each procedure. The procedures were minimally invasive, meaning just a small incision large enough for the trocar to be inserted so that the camera and surgical instruments could be pass through so that the work could be done. After the first two procedures (L4-5 & L5-S1) we done on the 16th & 18th December 2024 , I felt better than I'd felt in years and the third procedure was my C6-7, on the 20th. When I say that I feel good I mean I feel good. I especially love that no screws, pins, rods or plates were used, 40 minutes of walking is my only physiotherapy and my incision sites barely noticable. I still have to remind myself to take it slow and that I'm still in recovery mode (6-12weeks). Pain wise minimal, it's only when I overdo it that I have tension and discomfort but I have meds for that, lol. I just want to send a special shout-out to all everyone at the institute especially Dr. Wolff (love ya💕), Alicia and Ashley at the front, Madison & Brittany in Post-op, Cindy, Nikki & Sabrina in OR, Drs. Swanson & Hirsh (anesthesiologist).

If I could give it one stars I would. 5 surgeries here in one month time a year ago and they still couldn’t fix my L4/l5 L5/S1. I mean 5 procedures and you would think they would get it right. After surgery they stopped reaching out after I complained and complained about them not fixing the issue and taking money from me. And the pain shifted to both sides instead of one after surgery. They kept hounding me for money. Until I told them I wasn’t paying them shit anymore after my problem wasn’t resolved and I told them I want compensation back after 5 failed surgeries, they completely ghosted me… becareful of who you let do surgery’s on your spine, could cause more issues.

I honestly have no words for how significantly The Bonati Spine Institute has changed the path of my life for the better.

I am only 34 years old and suffered for 10 years from severe bi-lateral cervical stenosis, and two slight bulging discs. Dr. Wolff has completely irradicated my pain and has given me my life back. My husband was a consultant here at the Dr Bonati’s institute and he kept the clinics updated with their replacement drugs regarding their expectation dates. He consulted every month and because of his demise in 2013, has been replaced. He died on April 9, 2013 from severe flu and resultant pneumonia. It was quite an experience after flu symptoms went into pneumonia because it was just ten days. It was very sad to loose Ed Mattea. He was an excellent consultant. Having surgery at the Bonati Spine Institute was one of the best decisions of my life. When I arrived I could not walk or stand for more than 5 minutes and my pain level was at a 10. My next step was going to be a wheelchair. I had 3 surgeries 2 weeks ago and I am already walking almost 2 miles a day pain free. Dr. Bonati and his staff are amazing and I am so thankful for them. My mother in law was basically bed ridden for two years. We took her to Bonati Institute, wheeled her in a wheelchair. After her surgery, she walked out and climbed into our travel van. She moved back to her own home, drove her own car, and had a good life for 5 yrs. before dementia got her. A few yrs. Later, I couldn’t walk or stand more than 10 minutes. They helped me with my terrible neck and back pain that also affected my arms and legs post a MVA. The pain was unimaginable especially if I wasn’t on serious pain medication or receiving nerve blocks. I could barely hold my neck in a position to look forward or to look people in the eye depending on the location they were in related to my position. I couldn’t sit down and get through a days work. It was difficult for me to get to the restroom on time, many simple task of life simple things weren’t easy for me such as getting in and out of a shower that had a tub designed into it. Now I can hold my neck better and look at people better due to my surgeries here. My confidence is better than it was. I’m able to stand up straight without any involuntary pull down and crook in my back that I was dealing with prior. It get like someone had pliers gripped in my neck and spine as were twisting them and as if an elephant was stand on top of it. No post surgeries I can stay up longer, walk better, walk longer. It was extremely difficult prior and I was so depressed and scared to be alone. Nobody else would care or help at other facilities. They wanted to get straight to pain management such as electrical stimulation and RFA without just addressing the main issues. I’m not perfect and still deal with some issues and pain but I’m much better than I was. I can manage work now, I can manage a shower and I can easily make it to the restroom. I can send better to cook a meal. I still need the support of a cane but the before and after were worth it.
