We have been working with Dr. Aranda for about six weeks now. We feel so fortunate for the referral from our child’s psychologist to DBT, under her expertise. The combination of counseling she has provided for our child, as the patient, along with coaching for us, as parents, has been exactly what we needed to diminish incidence of self harm and suicidal ideation. We feel so much more hopeful about the future, and we are genuinely grateful for this quality of care. We look forward to continued improvement as we begin group classes soon.

Outstanding program! All staff is outstanding and Dr. Aranda only surrounds herself with true professionals. The only program that genuinely made a difference in our son and our family. We highly recommend DBT of Arizona to all of our families at Gateway Academy.

We’ve spent a lot of time with the professionals at DBT AZ, and our daughter is better for it. We started with the teen DBT skills group. I was skeptical about using any mental health professionals, but recognized the general life skills which were taught in this course and figured if this class stops my daughter from making one big mistake in her life it is worth it. The class takes commitment from the teen and the parents. Looking back on it, I think the greatest value of the class was phone coaching to assist the teen and the parents to use the skills when emotions are high. It’s very difficult for the professional to answer a call at any hour and coach a family through very rough events, and I’ll always be grateful for their help. I’d recommend this course to any family. They recommended we get our child evaluated for ADHD which was confirmed after the assessment. The diagnosis helped us to work with our child’s school to tailor a plan to increase her opportunities for success. Later, we completed Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy (RO DBT). It’s specifically designed for overcontrol issues. After that, we went through Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) which helped our daughter better deal with a traumatic experience. Dr. Aranda recommended books which could help us understand and help our daughter. A couple that really stood out to me are Untangled (Lisa Damour) and Glow Kids (Nicholas Kardaras). I’d recommend Untangled to any parent of a daughter. I’m struck by how many kids need mental health assistance, and it’s hard to know if you are approaching it correctly as a parent. I’m thankful DBT AZ was there for our family.

Thank you DBT of Arizona. Through DBT of Arizona's work, counseling and guidance, our young adult child is now in a tremendously better emotional mind set. Our child is now more stable, emotionally balanced, and less anxious, among many other symptoms associated with mental health challenges. We invested time and resources into DBT and over time, our child's health improved. We committed to group sessions, one on one sessions, and family sessions. For the better health of our child, we believed this was a marathon rather than a sprint. DBT provided the coaching, advice, skills and diagnosis needed to understand what is happening, what we can expect, best ways to make effective changes, and achieve positive results. This was and is a difficult journey, and with DBT our child and family is in a much better place. Should you or a loved one be struggling with mental health challenges, I strongly recommend DBT of Arizona. They have the resources, care, mindset and professionalism to help make improvements.

DO NOT GO HERE. They have odd and frankly borderline abusive bureaucratic rules. They will take your money and act as if you are doing them a service. Not to mention THEY WILL NOT FOLLOW UP WITH OTHER MEDICAL DOCTORS YOU ASK THEM TO FOLLOW UP WITH. I worked with them for nearly 5 months and I submitted my forms and waivers for them to speak to my psychiatrist and they never did. They reached out so many times. I did all the paperwork signed everything. Even told the student dbt therapist that they would be reaching out… nothing. So disappointing for the money that was spent which this ain’t cheap and I paid out myself no insurance. Shame on you.

If i could write less than a 1 star, I would. Completely unprofessional. Doctor Aranda does not even remember patients NAMES. After 3 months of seeing a patient, gets her name wrong Therapy is for a reason, to help. Calling someone the wrong name, not paying attention to details said in sessions, not remembering past interactions or conversations, DOES THE OPPOSITE. Save yourself the obscene amount of money required for these pathetic excuses for sessions. I am beyond angry and frustrated by the lack of professionalism, saying it “might be a fit issue” when corrected and confronted about getting a name wrong. Gaslighting and entitlement are 2 words to describe this terrible “doctor,” and I would go ANYWHERE else.

I had a negative experience with DBT Arizona and the staff. Scheduled appointment with a student without prior notice, resulting in a delay of over 30 days in receiving medical records. Staff unresponsive and unhelpful in resolving the issue. Did not assist with obtaining necessary documents for insurance claim, leading to a large medical bill. Felt misled and let down. Would not recommend.

For this being the first Peer's group DBT has ever done, I believe they did a good job. Everyone involved was very friendly, professional and thorough. Thank you to all DBT for helping our family!
