We spent three nights at The Hillsboro and loved our stay. We had a Two Queen Room with a pull out sofa, it was super comfortable and had lots of space. The kitchen area had a sink, microwave and half size fridge. Our patio had two chairs and a wonderful view of the ocean. I wouldn't call it a traditional hotel, but that's fine with me. If I needed something (tissues, garbage bags, coffee, etc) there was a neat collection of things in the lobby I could grab as needed. I pre checking in with the app so getting my room key took only a minute. Valet parking was $25 per day with 24 hour in and out access. Compared to places like Portland and Seattle, this is a steal! Staff at the hotel and valet were super friendly and helpful. The beach was beautiful as well as the outdoor seating and patio areas. Each property has their own private beaches so you can't throw a chair down on a neighbors beach and get a tab, but I did see lots of people strolling along the waterline in the evenings. I would absolutely stay here again and will check out other Sonder properties.

Just leaving today after 5 night stay. Beautiful view/beach and reasonable prices make this hotel appealing. Other than that, there are simply too many rules. No eating/drinking/personal chairs allowed in pool area, hotel main outdoor terrace area or Sonder private beach. Guests were literally leaving the Sonder property walking down the beach to be able to sit on a chair. Also there was a $25 a day mandatory valet fee and then tips expected on top of that. There was no house cleaning the entire stay and they discouraged you from asking for it. I'm not even sure if they charge for it. We had to beg for coffee, clean towels and bedding for the sofa bed. We had to go to the lobby and pick up our own toilet paper and also had to empty our garbage cans.. We walked on dirty floors and sand for five days and our beds were matted with sand on the sheets . Also you cannot call the front desk. You're expected to do everything through the Sonder chat app and then they tell you they'll get it to you within 12 hours. Not sure what kind of place this is if it's supposed to be a hotel but it's definitely strange.

We stayed for four nights during the peak season. This hotel was the most affordable by far for a beachfront hotel. The location is great (right on the beach), the rooms were recently renovated and clean, and the layout was very convenient (valet parking right off the elevator/stairs, lobby right off of the elevator/stairs, and a nice sitting area beachfront and poolfront.

Didn’t notice any problems overall. Seems to be very expensive on the weekends but I managed to get a very good deal thru an online booking site during the week. You will feel fancy here but it’s not overly fancy. Has a little pool and fitness center.

Room were very clean and grounds were very clean- though it lacks spaciousness in general. Everything is squeezed in but they do a decent job managing the limited space.

Room was very well priced, clean and bed was super comfy. Parking is valet only and cost us quite a bit, chairs and umbrellas for beach are rental only and cost even more money. Don’t forget anything because there is no sundries shop or concierge anything. Clean but basic and not overly accommodating. Get what you pay for kinda deal.

This is my second time staying at a Sonder sponsored venue. I must admit the atmosphere,location and pricing all play a factor to enjoying my reservations here.

Lets start off with some basics:

Parking:
There is no street parking or self parking option. Be prepared to pay a daily valet fee of $25. This is actually a bit lower compared to some other hotels that easily charge $55 or $70 a day for valet. Depending on how many days your staying it could add up but there is absolutely no other place to park on the A1A anyway so you might as well add this expense to your travel fees.

Staff is extremely friendly and accommodating to your needs and everything seems to run fluidly on a daily basis at the facility.

Rooms:
I had a one bedroom king and I was extremely comfortable from the moment I walked in. The room had a great amount of space needed for me and my belongings. The comfort of the bed was beyond my expectations and slept throughout the night with no issues.

What I mainly enjoyed the peace and quiet I got every night and/or every morning. The ocean breeze was probably the loudest thing you can hear and such a relaxing calming vibe.

Internet:
Speeds were great! With high speed WiFi throughout the entire hotel. I did not notice a dip in speeds in my room or outside by the beach front. Coverage overall was incredible for my remote workers.

Improvements:
They have coffee machines inside each room but failed to cover the basics of having such a device inside. With no creamer and/or sugars your stuck with black coffee unless you want to go ask for some supplies at front desk which im sure they would be happy to provide. It’s simple, if you’re going to have a coffee machine inside rooms cover the basics around coffee prep.

As a hotel I’m sure there are many people who forget toiletries. I was one of those who forgot my travel toothpaste and unfortunately the hotel didn’t provide any besides a bar of soap, body lotion, body wash, shampoo & conditioner.
The closet space provided could have accommodated an ironing board and an iron but was a missed detail.

I look forward to always staying at Sonder sponsored facilities. They have an amazing reputation with their hotels and I really enjoy the properties touch to aesthetics. Book here in confidence if you fully understand what you are prepared to hurdle.

So glad I didn’t feed into the reviews. This hotel was actually surprisingly pleasant if you know what you’re getting into. It seems to have been an old condo that was converted into a hotel. The room served its purpose, the location was fantastic. I didn’t run into any rude Valet employees like mentioned in other reviews. The $25 a day parking is more than normal, especially being valet. Most hotels charge 49$ a night to park yourself. The restaurant had a really good Greek salad and couscous. I wouldn’t come here with my kids but as it was just my husband and I, it was perfect. Libby smells fantastic also

The hotel is right on the beach with a nice pool. Units are clean and new. We had ample space with a separate kitchen area. Although there was nothing in the kitchen except a large fridge, sink and a microwave. All of the cabinets were bare-no dishes or flatware. Make sure to bring paper plates and utensils if you want to eat at the dining table in the unit. They did have paper towels and a coffee maker! I plan to come back on another trip.
