I’m so grateful for my experience at The Wave in Clearwater—it has been much better than I ever anticipated. The therapy here is truly the heart of the program, and it’s exceptional. The therapists are skilled, compassionate, and incredibly supportive, which is why I’ve decided to extend my stay.

The tech staff is equally amazing—each and every one of them goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and cared for. The senior management is actively involved, approachable, and always available if needed. They create a welcoming and safe environment where you feel almost at home.

The accommodations are excellent, with private rooms, shared bathrooms, and a very clean facility overall. I highly recommend The Wave for anyone seeking a supportive, therapeutic space to focus on healing and growth.

This version is polished and captures your positive experience in a way that would stand out as a thoughtful review. Let me know if you’d like to add or change anything!

Our time at The Wave in Clearwater was far from the exceptional experience we had hoped for. The therapy, which should have been the heart of the program, fell short of expectations. The therapists, though well-meaning, seemed disinterested and lacked the level of support one would anticipate in a treatment setting.

I have been here twice, and the one thing and only thing that majorly stood out to me was the staff, they treat you like their own family. This place overall feels like a little village and even though people come and go, the main focus is yourself, and the therapists and staff make you very aware of that. Of course it has its cons, but the pros overcome that! The weekend outings are something that not every mental health facility gets, so I am extremely grateful for that! The therapists do an absolute amazing job at making sure you get what you need to get to help you get the most out of the program. I am very grateful and happy to say that the wave helped me in so many ways and go further into my treatment. Thank you staff and everyone who helped me through my journey!

I did residential treatment at The Wave and then stepped down to PHP and IOP. My experience in residential was incredible.

From daily groups to outings to lifelong friendships, The Wave truly had it all. Not every day was good there but every day I could find purpose in being there. I also loved the emotional support dogs some of the therapists had/residents. Some of the outings we went on included a dolphin boat ride and to the aquarium.

The support from the entire staff really helped to create a supportive atmosphere. The techs were simply incredible and always were up to talk about anything— from life problems to your pets! They were always available to us and would drop anything for us if we needed them. The therapists were also always available if you needed a quick check in outside of your scheduled appointment and Raveen would always ensure everyone was alright, even offering her time to us as well. The night nurses were simply incredible too and I have so many fond memories of standing at the nurses station chatting away. They also provide check ins post discharge to ensure you’re still doing okay. Finally, the admissions team works really hard to make your insurance cover the stay and also works hard to create a payment plan for whatever insurance won’t cover, which took off so much stress from me.

The other important aspect of The Wave was the lifelong friendships I created during my stay. Even months after discharge, I still talk to so many of the fellow residents there and we constantly check in and share updates, which is what is really special to me.

Overall, I am so grateful for the time I spent at The Wave. I have never felt so stable in my life and I thank a lot of that to them. They were there when I was drowning and they were there when I was celebrating. The info I learned from the daily groups and the relationships I had with the staff I will not soon forget.

If you’re considering going to The Wave, I simply hope you do it. It was the best decision I ever made in my recovery to heal.

I had every intention of attending the inpatient program at The Wave and was working closely with Debbie, who was incredibly patient, kind, and understanding about both my needs and my concerns regarding the process. After some thoughtful reflection, I decided to postpone, realizing that committing to 30 days of inpatient care isn't feasible for me at this time for several personal reasons.

However, thanks to Debbie's exceptional support throughout this process, I am confident that I will be working with her on alternative options, such as an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) or perhaps Partial Hospitalization (PHP), which may better suit my current situation. And when the time is right, I will consider inpatient care again.

I cannot express enough gratitude for Debbie's guidance in helping me navigate this decision. With staff like her, it's clear why The Wave has such a stellar reputation. I look forward to meeting the rest of the team soon.

I wouldn’t recommend this place. After a traumatic experience, I came here on a friend’s recommendation without much research. Unfortunately, it wasn’t the right fit. Healing chakras, learning how to drink tea, or exploring healthy eating are great additional tools, but they’re not enough for serious trauma recovery. The lack of group therapy and more personalized sessions with therapists felt like a big gap. I was fortunate to leave and find another place where I could engage in group work, speak with professionals, and do daily homework that truly helped me process my past. This place may work for some, but it’s not suitable for those needing deep, trauma-focused healing.

I'm on my last week of the Residential portion of The Wave. This is a long review, I know, but for what The Wave has done in 3 weeks, they deserve every word.

I was nervous, didn't know what to expect, or even how to arrange my cats would be taken care of.
My insurance company actually referred me based on looking them up while checking coverage. I'd been asking for over a year from my pyschiatrist and gotten no where.
From the first moment I spoke with Debbie many months ago, I knew that of i could make it work she would be the one to help me. I wasn't able to get in when I wanted for various reasons, but Debbie was always there. She cared about my wellbeing more than getting a new patient.
Two years after my life changed forever, The Wave, it's team, and my fellow participants from each level of the program, have again changed my life. This change was for the better. I hand never felt as good as I do now. I now have people who understand me and support me. Some will truly be friends for life.
The therapist i was assigned to is perfect for me and my needs. The psychiatrist takes an interest in you as a whole, seriously considers medicine before she makes any decisions on prescribing anything.
As a resident the pampering you get access to is amazing! Haircut, nails, massage.... all included. Fun outings are planned for the weekend and grocery during the week.
After next week I transfer to the PHP program, you live at home, but come to the facility each day M-F 9:30-5 for the group sessions.
I can't praise Debbie enough for her support throughout the process, the decision, and sometimes just the need to talk. She and everyone at The Wave have given me help and more importantly hope in knowing who I am and what I'm worth.

I am not at all ashamed to say that I have been an inpatient resident at the Wave twice. I went in March of ‘23 for PPD and PPA. I was not ready to do the hard work and I spent my time unwisely. I left the program completed but I was angry and frustrated all the time - and that was on ME.
I just completed my second stay. I emailed Kathy and Karen, who I knew from before - and within an hour I received a kind and loving email saying of course you can come back. I hope people read this and know what a special thing that happened then, because that email kept me from going through with a plan that would have devastated all of those I love. It saved my life the same as if you shocked a flatline back to life.
I entered broken and so very sick and suffering. Every single person there loved me through 35 of the hardest but most healing and beautiful days of my life. The women there, the staff, are the most amazing people in this field. Unfortunately I know that from other experiences. THEY are the gold standard.
THANK you and I love you, too: Karen 🫂 , Kathy 🙌🏻, Debbie, Kristin, Jodi 🌭 Ann 💫 , DOCTOR Raisa Jill, Shelby 💃🏽 , Nouel 🧘‍♀️ , Lorrina, Lauren, Judy, Sandy 💚 , Noelle, Tina 💙 , Jenna, Toni 👓 Tiff, Jen, Dawn, Susan, Bre, Megan 💜, Marcae, Akhila, JAYDAH!!, and I know I’m missing some - but every single one.
I walked in broken and I left, whole again, with a positive and loving energy, brave enough to face anything. I am eternally grateful.
