Not great. Originally I requested a therapist but was assigned a psychiatrist who wanted me to take Zoloft. Although not really in favor of this, I agreed and said I would try. Took one and no more. After a couple minutes of recent appointment, was informed I had to take meds to continue with him. Not interested.

I felt a lot better after the first session talking to Emily Bunyon. She listened to my concerns, was very patient and gave me feedback that made me feel better and more at ease. I am looking forward to my next session with her.

Update: after several sessions I am still very pleased with Emily Bunyon. She has helped me to sort out several things. She really listens and gives great feedback back!

She was great! but I have not seen her since September I canceled all my appointments. So I will schedule an appointment when I’m ready to return no particular reason why . I’m so busy now I really don’t have time.

I love my counselor! What a perfect match! I was able to get an appointment the same day I called; the receptionist was super friendly and recognized my situation. During the session, I felt heard and taken seriously. I have ongoing care with a person and company who, I feel, want me to succeed. I feel i have genuine support and I couldn't be happier.

I am meeting virtually with my therapist. We are well matched as her experience is helpful as I navigate the meltdown of my bi-polar, alcoholic younger brother. She gives me homework and follows up at our next meeting. She is helping me let go of the "need to fix", and of guilt about being his only family now that his wife has divorced him and he has no children. She keeps re-directing me to my own family and life and asking the tough (for me) questions about my wants and needs. I am 75, so my life status is very different than it would be if I were, say, 45. I was referred to Thriveworks by a fellow participant in a NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) family support group.

Thriveworks is a great place to seek counseling services. The staff is patient, kind, and wonderful. It's quite easy to schedule an appointment and I really enjoyed my experience. I recommend this organization for anyone who needs to speak to a professional counselor or therapist for whenever life throws you some difficult challenges that one wishes to overcome. Dorothy Russell is a fantastic therapist!
