I was so happy to finally find counseling for my 14 year old niece at the time, who was in my care. We waited for her to say she was ready for it (which was probably too late). I needed her to have help in understanding that sometimes you need help and you need to be honest with yourself and the people that care for you. Well after what felt like progress turned into a whirlwind of drama. All of a sudden my niece was saying things like "It's ok to drink sometimes, it's ok to smoke sometime". She also wrote notes about sneaking out and turning off my ring cameras so that she can sneak out and "have fun", this was not ok, especially because there was threats made to my niece at one point from kids at her school. Yaremie Durand was her counselor and not only did she encouraged my niece to make adult decisions, she tells my niece that I need counseling which is highly unprofessional. Well in just 3 months worth of sessions my niece is back in a terrible environment and sneaks out of her dads house every other night and has had 2 pregnancy scares in 5 weeks. I may only be her aunt but as a parent this is the path I was hoping to help her avoid. I really feel that Yaremie maybe does not have enough experience with young teens and my niece just manipulated her into thinking that she was a mature teen that needed affirmation to her adult desires. Yaremie never communicated with me unless i reached out to schedule additional appointments, she also would do less sessions or change the appointment time with my niece but not confirm with me before hand. Unfortunately, I do not recommend this counselor for your troubled teens.

Going to see Tyne is the best thing I have ever done for myself, period. I have improved so much after two years with her, and I plan on continuing to see her. She works well with parent and child for their best interest. I can't imagine where i'd be had I not gone to see her. If you're considering it, I cannot recommend her enough, honestly. It would be the utmost BEST decision you could make. I can't be dramatic enough about how happy I am with my treatment. She is there for me, encourages me to grow to my full potential, adds humor and fun while still being honest with me. I could be having the worst day ever but when I walk in the doors to see her I feel the weight lifted off my shoulders, peaceful and supportive feeling surrounding me in a warm embrace. I'm not saying I look at her and my depression melts away, but pretty darn close to that. (That was an exaggeration, the two years with her have, however, helped me cope much better with depression). Tyne is professional and supportive and the most helpful a person could be. Do yourself a favor, do your makeup, get yourself a coffee, do your nails, and then do some rEAL self help and go see Tyne, you won't regret it.

UPDATE*
I am now writing this above my original review from four years ago. I remain a 5 star reviewer. I have been with Tyne longer than I can remember. We don’t always have monthly visits. If I need her she’s always had an appointment ready for me. I am proof of what Tyne does for others. She gave me the coping mechanisms I needed for life, Tyne has always made me feel my achievements are worth celebrating even if I don’t allow myself to feel proud. Tyne is invested in each patient she sees. She has had many late nights in my younger years talking to me on the phone when I couldn’t calm down for anyone else. If anyone is thinking about using tyne I say don’t think - reach out. Tyne has helped me to learn from my mistakes, own up to my behavior, and learn how to deal with life. I no longer feel helpless, severely depressed, or like there’s no meaning to life. It takes time to get better for anyone but I can’t imagine I would have gone so far in life without Tyne having been my therapist. I write this at 22, having started seeing tyne when I was about 12-13. I promise you there is no one out there who wants to see clients feel better and succeed more. And I credit tyne for all the stability I now have because I couldn’t have learned how to cope with life and the stressors without her.

Tyne is in my opinion one of the best therapists out there. I’ve been with her for many years now and I’d be lost without her. She truly cares about my well being and does whatever she can do in her power as a therapist to make sure I succeed. I feel there is no one more qualified than Tyne out there and I’ve had a few therapists by now.
